What Is It?
Highways to Fairways is a lot of things but mostly it's a TV show – or at least it will be a TV show. Thanks to government funding from the Haliburton County Development Corporation and support from a myriad of local and corporate sponsors, Highways to Fairways has come to life in the form of a pilot episode.
It's the classic roadtrip with a twist. A hearty crew of three hit the road to roam the North American countryside in search of fun, intrigue, adventure and some really great games of golf.
Imagine playing a course in Idaho where you have to take a boat out to the island pin to finish the hole or golfing amongst dinosaur bones in the Badlands of Alberta, or how about playing a course located in the infield of the famous Indianapolis 500. Our boys have done just that and have filmed anything and everything that happened along the way. The end result is now a TV pilot that will be pitched to various television networks.
The courses we play are the courses you can play. No snooty private courses here. We aim to showcase all the hidden gems out there, with some interesting sights and adventures along the way.
It's more than a pilot for a TV show; it's a cultural revolution and the dawn of a new type of traveler: the golfing roadtripper.
